I am Ruta Slivkiene, a Lithuanian artist based in Japan.

My paintings explore how women carry both tenderness and labor. I work primarily in oil, building thin layers that echo how memory accumulates. Motifs—mountains, domestic objects, hands—act as anchors for experience: grief, love, exhaustion, delight. Color is deliberate but humane; brushwork shifts from careful to impulsive to mirror the texture of lived days.
